Alison is here to share with you all of the incredible benefits that doTerra essential oils can bring to your life and demonstrate how they can help you glow from the inside out; which can be especially helpful during your wedding planning!

Go with a Pro!

''When I was getting married, one of my biggest concerns was trying to stay within my overall wedding budget.  It's hard to know where to cut corners because everything seems so important. I decided to cut back on my flowers and honeymoon.  BIG MISTAKE.  For me, I thought getting a nice bouquet was a handy enough job.  It was just a matter of picking some pretty flowers and sticking a bit of lace around them.  Simple right?!  I made some bad decisions, which involved a lot of DIY.  It quickly became too much (queue meltdown).  Literally 10 days before I got married, I made the phone call that saved me.  I phoned Chantelle at Pure who told me to relax and that she had it all under control.  For anyone that hasn't been to Pure, it’s an award winning florist, it is one of the busiest in the North West, and there is constantly so much going on in store.  But, it’s like military precision and Chantelle is a serious perfectionist who is always up for a challenge.  I was astonished at the level of detail she knew about pretty much every type of flower and could tell me what would work and what wouldn’t work with my dress.  I gave her free reign, and until my wedding day I literally didn’t have a notion what type of flowers were in my bouquet.  I trusted her 110%.  So my wedding tip is this... sometimes it’s just best to leave it with the professionals.  You can thank me later.  I wish I knew this 4 years ago.''

Sunbeds versus a Spray Tan
''We've all heard the warnings about Sunbeds, we all know how bad they are for us - but REALLY, only after I stopped them after my wedding, my skin looked like it had aged a few years in just a few weeks.  I know that you already know this... but seriously.  DONT do it! There are so many different great quality spray tans out there, and professionals that know how to apply it (to the extent that you can have a six pack contoured onto your tummy!).  Just get a Fake Tan trial before anything is set on stone, but don't put yourself under those UV lights.  If you've already started sunbed sessions, it’s not too late to stop.  A couple of drops of doTERRA's lavender essential oil mixed with coconut oil is a great natural way to soothe the damage done, rehydrate and put the moisture back into your skin.  I wish I knew this 4 years ago!''

You can have your cake and eat it!

''So many brides are terrified of eating too much on the day of the wedding... Why?  They're afraid of looking bloated in their wedding dress. (Yes, it sounds ridiculous, and I hate to admit it but I was one of them). In fact, so many brides deliberately pick a dress that is loose around the tummy to give them that extra space for when they start to bloat.  Did you know that Ginger and Peppermint are great for digestive support?  Did you know that by just adding some doTERRA Peppermint or Ginger essential oil to water after your meal will help alleviate bloating? It’s that simple.  You can thank me later.  I wish I knew this 4 years ago!''

The S Word.
''The absolute, number one complaint of brides to be in the lead up to their wedding is the S word.  STRESS.  Why is it so tolerated?  It’s as if there is an expectation to be stressed, and you just put up and shut up!  Stress is the root of all bad things...  It can lead to tears, fights with your nearest and dearest, weight issues, breakouts, sleepness nights and can force you to become really run down amongst so many other things.  I think that it is fair to say that a wedding without stress would be welcomed in so many homes.  I wish I knew that a couple of drops of doTERRA lavender and frankincense essential oil in a diffuser would help reduce stress and help me sleep! The combo are also purifying on the skin, so by simply using it topically on your skin gives you the emotional benefit and the physical benefit too.  Double win! I wish I knew this 4 years ago.''

Skincare Staples

''If you caught my post earlier in the week about skincare, you know that my skin wasn’t exactly as I had hoped in the lead up to my wedding. I was up against dreaded spots!  Little did I know that melaleuca (aka tea tree) essential oil is highly anti septic, whilst having a dehydrating effect on spots.  Lavender essential oil is great for its repairing, healing effects and is jam packed full of antioxidants, so if you do have any scarring and want to repair your skin fast, Lavender essential oil is the way to go.
Even one of Irelands top makeup artists Lyndsey Kavanagh describes melaleuca as a ‘fail-safe remedy’ and recommends to have doTERRA’s Lavender and Melaleuca in the make-up bag to combat any skin issues.  I wish I knew this 4 years ago.''

Operation Pearly Whites
''If you want to avoid invasive teeth whitening procedures which can lead to teeth sensitivities, why not try adding clove esssential oil to your toothpaste which is proven to naturally whiten teeth.  Also check out the latest dental craze called Oil Pulling, which involves swishing coconut oil around your mouth for 10 - 20 minutes first thing in the morning.  It’s proven to be highly detoxifying and great for whitening teeth.  I wish I knew this 4 years ago!

Supercharge your immune system
''In the lead up to your wedding, when your juggling so many different things, it’s easy to put yourself at the bottom of the priority list.  Why do it to yourself?  This is YOUR DAY.  In the lead up, make sure that you put YOU at the top of the priority list.  If you don’t, it’s easy to let the stress take over, and that can bring on so many problems such as a weaker immune system.  Make sure that you’re eating well to stock up on all the vitamins and minerals that your body needs to run at 100%.  Essential oils and nutritional supplements are a great way of giving your body the boost that it needs, especially when you’re trying to fend off nasty bugs, colds and flu’s.  On Guard is a protective blend, which you can simply add to water, or put on the bottoms of your feet to supercharge your immune system.  It’s so easy and effective.  I wish I knew this 4 years ago.''

Guys Guide
''There are so many ways that men can use essential oils in their lives.  Firstly, what man do you know that doesn’t enjoy a massage?  Why not treat the man in your life to a calming rub down with some of his favourite essential oils.
Ceaderwood, Vetiver Sandalwood, Bergamot and Grapefruit are some of the key notes found in men’s colognes from major fragrance houses such as Tom Ford, Dior and Hermes.  The extracts that are used in cologne fragrances, are also available in the form of essential oils.  The added bonus of using essential oils as a fragrance, is that the oils double up to give a grounding emotional benefit. You can add them to your diffuser at home to help you feel relaxed and grounded
Most of the men that I know aren’t as vocal with their emotions as women.  Women tend to sit down and chat it out with their family and friends over pots of tea.  Men on the other hand tend to bottle their emotions.  So when you can diffuse some essential oils at home, not only are the men getting the emotional support that they need, but your home smells beautiful.
Why not try the AromaTouch Technique, which is a massage style technique that involves the use of 8 essential oils to help combat Stress, Immune Support, Inflammation whilst uplifting and leaving you feeling energized?  It is a technique that can be carried out in your home, so why not look into learning the AromaTouch technique and surprise your man with a nice rub down that will make him feel a million bucks.  For more information on upcoming AromaTouch technique 1 day courses text 087 795 4615.''

Bringing Sexy Back
''Did you know that Jasmine and Ylang Ylang essential oils are natural aphrodisiacs? Stick a couple of drops in your bedroom diffuser.  You can thank me later!''

Honeymoon Essentials

''So, let me guess... at the bottom of your ‘to-do list’ is to prep for honeymoon.  Whatever you do, don’t forget to pack your doTERRA essential oils.  As you’ve probably noticed, there are so many versatile ways of using essential oils.  So I have picked my top 3 that everyone should have on their honeymoon.

  1.  Lavender essential oil is a natural antihistamine, so if you do get a bug bite simply apply some lavender to your skin to help soothe it.  It helps with the itching and quickly brings down the bite.  If you have too much fun in the sun, and end up with sunburn, make sure that you add a couple of drops of lavender to help soothe it.
  2. To help prepare your binkini body, add a couple of drops of doTERRA’s lemon or grapefruit essential oil to help with a detox.  These citrus oils help destroy fat cells, so its exactly what you need if you’re trying to slim down...  Oh, and it’s an awful cellulite buster too!
  3. Whatever you do, don’t forget to pack your peppermint essential oil.  By adding a couple of drops to a spray bottle, you create a cooling refreshing mist. It’s also great to have on standby if you overdo it at dinner!
  4. Before you set sail, rub some ‘On Guard’ protective blend to your feet to give your body an immune supercharge to help fend off any airbourne bugs that are being recircualted in the air.
  5. Don’t forget to pack your Ylang Ylang and Jasmine! It is your honeymoon after all!''
